Limerick Lake - 2026 News

NEWS UPDATE: October 28, 2026

Daily weather and gossip are on hiatus for the winter.  Got the plumbing drained just in time for a couple of very chilly mornings.  Moved the dock on the morning of the 28th.  Perfect day for it.  Calm as glass.  A quick recap, we had 19.91 inches of rain since April ice-out.  Warmest day of the season was Canada Day, July 1 at 93F.  And, as we all know, the rainiest day(s) of the season were on the August holiday weekend with 2.1 inches of rain falling both Sunday and Monday.  That storm brought almost 5 inches of rain total.

The webcam at 165 South Shore is back on with a great view of the north-west corner of the lake.  The bear that had been in the camera view last winter has migrated inland to a safer location.

Nordspace has hired a local manager, and the good news is that I know him well.  That means that within the limits of military secrecy, updates on their progress will be posted here.  They tested an engine two Fridays ago around 7PM.  Sounded like a low flying jet.  They will be building an additional building and bringing in some office trailers this winter.  I dropped a hint that an open house next summer would be nice so we can see what all is happening.  There is NO plan to launch from their site here.  Launch is in the Maritimes.

Speaking of the Maritimes, everyone watching "Below" on Netflix?  Loved the line about moving everyone to Toronto.

A reminder that the fall Cottage Life Show is coming up November 13-15.  No more great discounts on tickets though.

Dump is on winter hours through April 2027.  11AM to 4:30PM, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays.  (fires/burning are still on summer restrictions through October 31)

The 2026 fishing regulations are on-line.

The fishing seasons and regulations for this area (zone 15) remained the same in 2026 as in recent years.  They are on pages 104-114 of the 2026 regulations book.  Bass started on June 27 and ends November 30.  Trout started January 1 and ended September 30 with the slot size of 16 to 21 inches to be returned to the lake.  It is a one-line lake for ice fishing. Trout will most likely open once again on January 1, 2027 for ice fishing. I will keep an eye out for the 2027 regulations.  They are usually posted in early December.
