A couple of mixed bag days happening. Monday morning had some light showers before the clouds gave way to a bit of sunshine. No rain later in the day. Tuesday started off with thick overcast once again. At 6:30AM it was still dark as night. No precipitation and there are finally some breaks in the clouds as the morning rolls along. Looks like Wednesday should remain mostly cloudy before the remnants of a pacific hurricane make their way into Eastern Ontario on Thursday with more rain forecast Thursday into Friday. It dries up and should be some sunshine on the weekend.
Played 9 holes at Bancroft Ridge on Monday. A bit damp for a few holes but then dried up. The course is quite nice and with autumn colors surrounding the green fairways, it was quite picturesque. None of that did anything to improve our games.
No one told me I could not make this public, (I could not screen shot, photograph, record the hearing or have others in the room with me) so here goes. The Limerick Estates project has been sold. The expected closing date is October 21. The buyers are being kept secret by the lawyers at this time. They asked for on OLT continuance until later next year. They were granted until mid-January. It was disheartening to find out the existing owners fired their newly hired lawyers several months ago and that zero progress has been made on reaching any compromise recently. For those following, the excuse of new lawyers was used last winter to ask for a continuance, which was granted. Man, this has been going on since the late 70s. Same MO, over and over.
Dump is on winter hours through April 2027. 11AM to 4:30PM, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays. (fires/burning are still on summer restrictions through October 31)
The list of candidates for the election is posted on the municipal website. The LWRA held a Board meeting recently and after MUCH discussion voted to support Kim for mayor, and council candidates Jan Mackillican, Shawn Pack, and Kevin Charlton. On-line voter registration is over. Call the municipal office (613-474-2863) during normal business hours to verify if you are registered to vote.

I had a chance to talk issues with candidate Kevin Charlton after the Council meeting. Seems like a great guy who became active in community events and organizations (including becoming a volunteer fireman) as soon as he moved to the area. He was/is a victim of a certain large landowner in the municipality as he is part of a hunt camp. No love lost there. He is currently in the process of writing a platform statement which I will pass along once I have it.

The fishing seasons and regulations for this area (zone 15) remain the same as recent years. They are on pages 104-114 of the regulations book. Bass started on June 27 and ends November 30. Trout started January 1 and ends September 30 with the slot size of 16 to 21 inches to be returned to the lake. It is a one-line lake for ice fishing.
