A gorgeous early autumn weekend. Even spotted a few water sports folks getting towed around this corner of the lake on Saturday. Afternoon highs reached 76F both days. Rain moved in as forecast late in the day Sunday. Not much to it with .02 inch falling. Monday is supposed to remain cloudy and relatively mild. Some sunshine returns Tuesday. Temperatures are supposed to remain right around normal for this time of year all week. Next rain is forecast for Thursday.
Dump is on winter hours through April 2027. 11AM to 4:30PM, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays. (fires/burning are still on summer restrictions through October 31)
The list of candidates for the election is posted on the municipal website. The LWRA held a Board meeting recently and after MUCH discussion voted to support Kim for mayor, and council candidates Jan Mackillican, Shawn Pack, and Kevin Charlton. On-line voter registration is over. Call the municipal office (613-474-2863) during normal business hours to verify if you are registered to vote.

I had a chance to talk issues with candidate Kevin Charlton after the Council meeting. Seems like a great guy who became active in community events and organizations (including becoming a volunteer fireman) as soon as he moved to the area. He was/is a victim of a certain large landowner in the municipality as he is part of a hunt camp. No love lost there. He is currently in the process of writing a platform statement which I will pass along once I have it.

Whether renewing or becoming a new member of the Limerick Waterways Ratepayers Association (LWRA), you can do it easily on their website at: lwra.ca. Dues are $50 per year per cottage. Please support the organization that works on many issues of importance to the lake community.
Similar to the iSampleon.ca website for reporting invasive species, the Ministry of Health has created eTick.ca to report tick bites or tick sightings. Like the invasive species website, you take a picture of the bug, fill in some information and submit it. You will get a reply as to what type of bug it is and whether it is dangerous or not. The black leg tick that spreads Lyme disease has not been identified north of 7 in Hastings County. But it has been identified at a similar latitude in Haliburton and Minden.

The fishing seasons and regulations for this area (zone 15) remain the same as recent years. They are on pages 104-114 of the regulations book. Bass started on June 27 and ends November 30. Trout started January 1 and ends September 30 with the slot size of 16 to 21 inches to be returned to the lake. It is a one-line lake for ice fishing.
